WCPA Vision (abstract)

We propose a vision for a strong and united World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) that works collaboratively towards the achievement of common goals to strengthen the IUCN. It embraces a philosophy of cultural sensitivity, gender equity, rejuvenation, and balanced representation in the leadership team and is guided by the following principles: strategic thinking, inclusion and diversity, participation, collaboration and teamwork, respect for human rights, accountability, sensitivity, adaptability, local to global approaches, and dialogue.
