Olivier Chassot
Leading the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas
Actualizado: 15 jul 2020
Dear friends. I am deeply appreciative of all your expressions of sympathy and would like to ask for your continuing support for what is my greatest professional aspiration and a great challenge at the same time. Dreaming of leading the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) amongst the best global specialists in their fields motivates me to continue working tirelessly to generate inclusive conservation processes. My campaign has formally started, and I am sure that I will not reach this goal without the support of each and every one of you. I am pleased to open this space to periodically share ideas with you and receive all the feedback, suggestions and criticisms that will hopefully help me be elected at the next IUCN World Conservation Congress in January 2021, and then contribute to building a new vision for the WCPA. I would also love to be able to dialogue with you through my campaign blog and other social networks.
I share my official nomination manifesto, as published by IUCN. Ideas evolve and refine every day, from dozens of conversations with a very diverse group of people, but this is the basis of the promise. I am currently making progress in preparing a broad vision for WCPA.
